As an organizational development and program evaluation specialist with outstanding planning, facilitation and design skills, Deb has led efforts in organizational culture change, strategic planning, and change management throughout Vermont. Deb has extensive experience working with clients in the public and not-for profit sectors.
Deb’s consulting practice is grounded in experience working directly in organizations serving the needs of Vermont families and children, most recently as the Coordinator of Program Development and Evaluation for Early Education Services (EES) in Brattleboro, VT. In addition to her consulting and evaluation work with such organizations as the State of Vermont Agency of Human Services, Deb has also exemplified community leadership with the Vermont New American Schools Initiative, the State Team for Children and Families, the United Way of Windham County, and many other organizations.
Holding a Ph.D. in Human and Organization Development from The Fielding Institute, Deb has taught graduate level courses in Organizational Theory and Behavior, Leadership, and Systems Theory. She has also conducted Program Evaluation and Data Analysis for numerous Even Start programs, and has provided evaluation skill training and capacity building to a multitude of early childhood programs, including Head Start and Early Head Start. Deb is a strong proponent of ‘practical idealism’ a firm belief that grand dreams and high ideals are not only compatible with careful analysis and pragmatic planning, but that technical knowledge alone is ineffective unless it is driven by an ongoing commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
